Rise Above Campaign 2024:
Help Us Warm Our Community This Winter
Bring Hope, Warmth, and Compassion to Those in Need.
Francois (Frank) Richer, a beloved figure in the Byward Market, passed away recently at the age of 52. Known for his warm greetings and familiar presence, Frank frequented spots like Byward Market Square, Sussex by Chapters, Dalhousie, and the Shepherds of Good Hope. On summer evenings, he brought smiles with jokes near Clarence Street restaurants, always ending with “God bless” or “Have a good day.”
Despite the challenges of homelessness and a system that failed him, Frank’s kind and intelligent spirit left a lasting impression on those who knew him. The pandemic only deepened his struggles, yet his warmth and resilience never wavered.
In Frank’s memory, we’ve launched the Rise Above Campaign to honor his legacy and help others in need. This winter, your support can make a tangible difference. Donate today to sponsor essential winter clothing for those experiencing homelessness and continue Frank’s message of kindness and care.
Frank’s passing reminds us of the importance of compassion and looking beyond appearances. Rest in peace, Frank. You will be missed.
